All about the doggies

Hello, dear readers)). I hope everyone's doing okay. This long awaited (by me) entry is going to be about the dog shelter I mentioned in one of my previous posts: https://mybluggles.blogspot.com/2020/03/after-pandemic.html?m=1 First of all, I'd like to point out the fact that I'm afraid of dogs. People don't believe me when I tell them (especially since I tend to go about petting every single doggie in my sight), but I can assure you I am. Trust me on this. Regardless of that unhandy fear, I have spent the past few months paying visits to volunteer at a dog shelter in my city. I first found out about the shelter when a good friend of mine offered to take me there with her for a day of volunteering. I agreed without any hesitation, because the idea appealed to me quite a bit. Now, I was warned that it would be noisy at the shelter, but no warning could have prepared me for the amount of noise you experience every time you set foot inside. To give you a slightly bet...

The essential situation

Welcome back)). In this entry I want to get through a few different things, so that I have the chance to drop the topic of the coronavirus for the next few posts. The reason for that being because I’m sure that everyone’s starting to get frustrated about the fact that all that’s currently being discussed in detail is the virus. I, for one, most definitely am. Alright then, let’s start our way through). What’s happening here in Pattaya? Yesterday, I experienced all the pleasures of struggling to unclog a sink. Upon discovering that I lack a necessary liquid, I left the house to go to the store for the first time in three days. Honestly, I can’t say that there was a difference worth noting in the occurrences of the outside world. Yes, there is a bit less traffic then usual, but otherwise, everything seemes very much normal. It was when I arrived at my destination, however, that I began taking notice of the little, almost negligible details. There were a few changes in the rul...

After the pandemic

Good morning; good afternoon; good evening. As you may have guessed by the title, my aim for this entry is to share with you what I hope to do after the coronavirus subsides enough for things to get back to normal. More or less. Just so I don’t forget, if you have a minute or two to spare, leave a comment about some things you would consider doing yourself. It’d be interesting to see what motivates different people to keep hanging on during this disaster. 1. First of all, I will go visit the local dog shelter. I’ve been there a handful of times, with different friends of mine, so I think that my first visit after the virus should be made alone. You know, for the sake of contrast :) 2. I will definitely meet up with people, especially people I didn’t have the chance to catch up with before the situation started escalating. Of course, I can engage in conversations over text or call, video call, even, however, as you are aware, nothing beats meeting in person. 3. I’ll go to...

Look who’s discovered titles

It is now around an hour into the evening, and I’ve come back from a not very enjoyable run on the treadmill. I’m not a huge fan of treadmills because I find that if you run long distance, the same setting in front of your eyes becomes monotonous and even, to a certain degree, dreary. But since I’m doing my best to stay indoors and save the world, I made an effort to compensate for the negative aspects of my run with some music. Now, as I mentioned in my last entry, I will be explaining my current situation with studying, cancelled exams, plans, etc. This May, I was due to take my IGCSE English Literature exam. The reason I was only looking to take one, is because I took the rest a year early, with the exception of Maths, which I took in November 2018. NOW, I am no genius, and honestly, I don’t know what my reasoning behind taking most of the exams early was, but goodness am I glad I have. Especially because I happen to be homeschooled, so if I hadn’t taken them then, I would have ha...
Another day, another entry). Good morning; good afternoon; good evening. I hope you have/had a lovely day). I’m currently brushing my teeth at the same time as writing this, because multitasking👌🏻. Last night my mum and I watched this sensation of a movie called ‘The Pianist’. It was without question the deepest, most evoking movie I have seen to this date. I recommend this movie to absolutely everyone, because it truly deserves to be watched. The cookies turned out edible too. Joking, they’re really nice)). Except maybe for the fact that we made them just a little too sweet. Out of boredom, I accidentally ended up having a whole photo shoot centered around one cookie. I’ll be sure to add in a snap). Honestly, I am finding it hard to believe that I haven’t left the house for the entire day yesterday. It’s not like that was the first occurrence of the sort (trust me, not by far); it’s more the fact that something in my head is telling me that I should have. Goodness, and the ...
As promised, another entry following up :) Here in Thailand, the coronavirus situation isn’t the worst, but neither is it the best of both worlds. According to my latest-read news sources, there are 1,245 recorded cases and 6 deaths. Personally, I’d say that the situation where I live isn’t disastrous. We don’t appear to have the classic shortage of toilet paper, but I am however starting to notice a sudden decrease in eggs. Oh well, gotta counterbalance somehow. This weekend, the residents of Pattaya are strongly recommended to stay on quarantine, otherwise the government seems to be threatening a lockdown. It’s currently just ticked into the early afternoon, and well, what can I say? So far so good. I’ve slashed down the time by studying and reading blogs. My mum and brother had a sudden urge to make cookies, so it looks like I’ve found my next activity for today. I hope the rest of you are holding on okay. From what I’ve read, it looks like we’re having it easy here. Stay saf...
Good morning; good afternoon; good evening. Whichever one of the three it may be for you. For us here in Thailand it is currently a good morning). In this entry, my main focus will be to some extent introduce myself to you. Since my aim here is to create a friendly, informal space, we’ll set up a cheery, first name basis. In other words, I’m Ksenia). Although, the ‘K’ is pronounced in Russian, I prefer it to be left silent in English, as everyone I know whom I communicate with in English, all call me Senia. It’s almost as if it’s a nice nickname everyone calls me, really. For the time being, I’ve chosen to refrain from disclosing my age, since I find that age often provokes bias, and trust me, we don’t want that. My age shall be whatever you chose it to be. Almost like you’re creating your own character here, eh? As tacitly inferred earlier, I’m a Russian who’s resided in Pattaya, Thailand for a large chunk of my life (just about 10 years now). I see Pattaya as a home, as this is the...
Right off the bat, I’d like to dedicate this blog to anyone and everyone who’s ever wished to have a blog, but instead possessed absolutely no idea of where to start. What a wonderful gift, am I right? I hope that my personal little step towards something bigger has the power of lighting up a speck of inspiration in you; even if it may only be the tiniest one. Don’t worry, I will make sure to tune it down on the cheesy stuff). ‘My Bluggles’ (the title of this blog) is a chopped down version for ‘My Blogging Struggles’ (very creative indeed), which, I think, speaks very well for itself. And if it doesn’t, then the rest of the words on this blog should. Oh, right. How could I forget? A very warm welcome to my lovely blog)). Here, you will have all kinds of insights into my life, be greeted with something different at each entry (I mean, fingers crossed, right?), and most importantly (in my opinion, at least), be exposed to all the possible forms of sarcasm, hot out of the oven. Care...
