Look who’s discovered titles

It is now around an hour into the evening, and I’ve come back from a not very enjoyable run on the treadmill. I’m not a huge fan of treadmills because I find that if you run long distance, the same setting in front of your eyes becomes monotonous and even, to a certain degree, dreary. But since I’m doing my best to stay indoors and save the world, I made an effort to compensate for the negative aspects of my run with some music.

Now, as I mentioned in my last entry, I will be explaining my current situation with studying, cancelled exams, plans, etc. This May, I was due to take my IGCSE English Literature exam. The reason I was only looking to take one, is because I took the rest a year early, with the exception of Maths, which I took in November 2018. NOW, I am no genius, and honestly, I don’t know what my reasoning behind taking most of the exams early was, but goodness am I glad I have. Especially because I happen to be homeschooled, so if I hadn’t taken them then, I would have had to wait until the next opportunity to take them after the pandemic is over, which no one know when that’ll happen. The loss of Literature was a pity, however. It was the exam I was most looking forward to taking, since, over the years, I have developed quite a strong passion for the subject.

So therefore, after I’d settled down from the shocking but predictable news, my next question was, what do I do now? When I asked a few close friends for advice, they suggested that I get started with something new, which resulted in me thinking: Why not start slowly working on my A-Levels? And I think you’ve guessed it - that’s exactly what I decided to do. At that point, my motivation levels were sky high, so that very same day I picked up my A-Level Psychology textbook, and began to read through, as already mentioned, slowly but surely.

Since I don’t have any of my other textbooks yet, for the time being, I am planning to continue with Psychology. I do have a few ideas of what I can do to have a start on my other two chosen subjects - those being Literature (no surprise there), and Biology - but for the sake of keeping my motivation intact, I will be greedy and keep those to myself).

To end this entry off, I want to toss a huge thank you over to the few people who have been very kind to visit my blog. If you have any suggestions on what I could write about, or how I could improve my blogging/blog, please don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments underneath. Have a wonderful day :)

After the pandemic

Good morning; good afternoon; good evening. As you may have guessed by the title, my aim for this entry is to share with you what I hope to do after the coronavirus subsides enough for things to get back to normal. More or less. Just so I don’t forget, if you have a minute or two to spare, leave a comment about some things you would consider doing yourself. It’d be interesting to see what motivates different people to keep hanging on during this disaster. 1. First of all, I will go visit the local dog shelter. I’ve been there a handful of times, with different friends of mine, so I think that my first visit after the virus should be made alone. You know, for the sake of contrast :) 2. I will definitely meet up with people, especially people I didn’t have the chance to catch up with before the situation started escalating. Of course, I can engage in conversations over text or call, video call, even, however, as you are aware, nothing beats meeting in person. 3. I’ll go to...

All about the doggies

Hello, dear readers)). I hope everyone's doing okay. This long awaited (by me) entry is going to be about the dog shelter I mentioned in one of my previous posts: https://mybluggles.blogspot.com/2020/03/after-pandemic.html?m=1 First of all, I'd like to point out the fact that I'm afraid of dogs. People don't believe me when I tell them (especially since I tend to go about petting every single doggie in my sight), but I can assure you I am. Trust me on this. Regardless of that unhandy fear, I have spent the past few months paying visits to volunteer at a dog shelter in my city. I first found out about the shelter when a good friend of mine offered to take me there with her for a day of volunteering. I agreed without any hesitation, because the idea appealed to me quite a bit. Now, I was warned that it would be noisy at the shelter, but no warning could have prepared me for the amount of noise you experience every time you set foot inside. To give you a slightly bet...

Running with a face mask

Good morning; good afternoon; good evening. I hope you have/had a wonderful day :)). This evening I dragged myself out of the house to go for a nice run. Unfortunately, it is now illegal to leave your house without a face mask on, so I had to go running in mine. Being a forgetful idiot, I forgot to get a picture of it before I chucked it into the washing machine, so my bad :| Running with a face mask on really isn’t great. The first and biggest issue is that the mask restricts your breathing making it harder to keep in steady. Yes, that may be good for cardio, but I would rather prefer to breathe normally, thank you very much. Secondly, your face sweats a lot underneath the mask. Not only that, but to make matters worse, my mask was also drenched in sweat by the time I was done with my run. And lastly, for me personally, it was quite difficult to catch my breath after I finished the run. It took me a few minutes, and eventually I had to retreat to taking the mask off. The only po...
