Happy Songkran!

Hello, welcome back)). Let's breifly summarise the weekend, shall we? :)

On Saturday morning I wokeup with very sore legs, which was the expected result of a 1,000 suqat challenge I impulsively decided to do on Friday evening. Yes, you read that right, 1,000 squats, which absolutely destroyed me. Needless to say, I have been forced to make quite the effort to wobble around for the past three days.

I baked some nice cookies on Saturday, which got a very good laugh from one specific person who claimed they looked like horse droppings. See for yourself, and let me know if you agree with the opinion:

Sunday was they day I attempted (key word here) to make homemade ice-cream. It ended up having a consistency of frozen chocolate mousse, so I wouldn't say it was a complete (another key word) fail. Here's a quick snap I took:

Sunday was also the day I was given some lovely chocolates. I've been intermittently eyeing the pack for the entire day today and reasoning with myself why I should save them for sometime in the near future. So far, I've succeeded at fending myself off.

Right then, I think a question that should be answered is 'What on Earth is Songkran?'. Well, I will do my best to make a more detailed post on the celebrations, but in the simplest of detail, Songkran is a Thai holiday, which people celebrate mainly by throwing water at each other. It's a great lot of fun, but unfortunately, this year it was cancelled for obvious reasons due to the current situation. It is unusual for the famous tradition to be broken, but I am not entierly upset. After all, there won't be any unwanted and unforeseen buckets of ice cold water splashed on me this year. Goodness, I've decided: I am definitely making the next post all about Songkran. Look out for that one :).

Today was a rather special day, because in the early afternoon it suddenly started raining. Finally! After the last few unmercifully hot months we're going to have some rain! And just like that, I think it's almost safe to say that the rainy season is about to engulf Thailand. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that I'm all for it :)

Yes, same picture used twice and no shame :)

What also unexpectendly made an appearance today is my urge to listen to some classical music. When in the right mood, I absolutely crave classics. Here are some of my favourites:

https://youtu.be/FItvuYc9VRw (Chopin - Spring Waltz)

https://youtu.be/qpbX7SbXOtU (Prague Cello Quartet - The Phantom of the Opera)

https://youtu.be/YFD2PPAqNbw (Beethoven - Silence)

https://youtu.be/_hyAOYMUVDs (Chopin - Nocturne No. 20 in C-sharp minor)

https://youtu.be/QP73569coeo (Antonio Vivaldi - La Stravaganza)

There's heaps more, but I thought it would be best not to overdo with the links. Appropriately, today's question will be: Do you listen to classical music? If so, what are your favourite pieces?

Have a nice day, everyone :)))

After the pandemic

Good morning; good afternoon; good evening. As you may have guessed by the title, my aim for this entry is to share with you what I hope to do after the coronavirus subsides enough for things to get back to normal. More or less. Just so I don’t forget, if you have a minute or two to spare, leave a comment about some things you would consider doing yourself. It’d be interesting to see what motivates different people to keep hanging on during this disaster. 1. First of all, I will go visit the local dog shelter. I’ve been there a handful of times, with different friends of mine, so I think that my first visit after the virus should be made alone. You know, for the sake of contrast :) 2. I will definitely meet up with people, especially people I didn’t have the chance to catch up with before the situation started escalating. Of course, I can engage in conversations over text or call, video call, even, however, as you are aware, nothing beats meeting in person. 3. I’ll go to...

All about the doggies

Hello, dear readers)). I hope everyone's doing okay. This long awaited (by me) entry is going to be about the dog shelter I mentioned in one of my previous posts: https://mybluggles.blogspot.com/2020/03/after-pandemic.html?m=1 First of all, I'd like to point out the fact that I'm afraid of dogs. People don't believe me when I tell them (especially since I tend to go about petting every single doggie in my sight), but I can assure you I am. Trust me on this. Regardless of that unhandy fear, I have spent the past few months paying visits to volunteer at a dog shelter in my city. I first found out about the shelter when a good friend of mine offered to take me there with her for a day of volunteering. I agreed without any hesitation, because the idea appealed to me quite a bit. Now, I was warned that it would be noisy at the shelter, but no warning could have prepared me for the amount of noise you experience every time you set foot inside. To give you a slightly bet...
