Puzzling over puzzles

Good morning; good afternoon; good evening, everyone! I decided to type this entry up in the evening, in order to tell you about my day today, which, I must say, was quite enjoyable.

The day began with me waking up at 7:00 am to go for a morning run. This was somewhat of a new experience, as I usually opt for evening runs instead to not have to go through the waking up part. Surprisingly, I found the run quite pleasant, and this may not be the last time I chose to run in the morning. Have you ever gone for morning runs?

A few hours after that, I made my way to my friend's house to put together a puzle. Now, I know what you might be thinking, 'Ksenia, why are you going outside? You should be staying at home', so allow me to explain. I think that if I don't go out to any public places, it is perfectly reasonable for me to visit a friend at her house once in a while. Especially seeing as I drive there without making any stops on the way. Anyhow, the puzzle started off like this:

The image we were attempting to collect was of a nighttime view of London in the area of the Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben, for all you non-qualified Brits). The puzzle was made up of 1,000 pieces. Spoiler alert: we did not complete it.

After spending perhaps a little over an hour celebrating every two pieces we managed to put together, we were able to put together the middle of the tower, and about three quarters of the Ferris wheel:

This is also the point where I started getting fancy with my photography of the puzzle :)

Realising that both of us would soon get fed up if we continued, we agreed to take a short break. Somehow, the short break turned into us making pancakes (which came out great), and miserably, yet hilariously, failing to do simple coordinated yoga poses. After all that fun however, the puzzle was calling for us again.

After little snippets of progress, we decided to end the puzle off with the ferris wheel figured out, and most of the tower pieced together along with it:

Oh, and here's a bit more of my creative photography:

Have you done a puzzle or anything similar while staying at home thus far?

  2. There is something beautiful about a post about a jigsaw...I love it!

    1. I wish we'd completed it. I think the post would have felt more satisfying to read.

Yep, Big Ben is indeed the bell. Very happy to know that little fact myself :)

  3. I checked out your blog and it's amazing! I loved it. I decided to leave my comment here because this post in particular was so fun to read. I send you a "high five" from Puerto Rico. You are doing a great job! :)

  4. I sometimes go on morning runs with my family (a scowl visible on my face all of the way lmao) don't get me wrong, I love waking up and taking a walk in the mornings, just in my own time. Maybe walk by myself instead of forced to jog. Mostly I would be content to just curl up in bed and enjoy that hazy post-waking up moment in the morning.

And the most puzzling thing I'm doing so far is my homework. It's taking up all of my time lmao

Good read! You're so active in your blogging

    1. Thank you for your comment)). Morning runs aren't entirely my thing either, but it looks like I do enjoy them once in a while after all. Although I do agree with you about the curling up in bed :)

Good luck with your homework. You'll power through one way or another))

The real 'Bluggles'

Hi, everyone)). I hope you're doing well. This is an entry I was looking forward to writing for a few days now, and finally got down to it.  As we all know, every task that requires any form of effort (which is, in fact, EVERY task) has its own set of difficulties that tags along with it, no matter if we like that or not. So, I wanted to address some of the struggles I, as well as probably some of you, have come across while blogging this far. BUT, I feel like anyone can just sit down and share a few of their difficulties, therefore, I decided to also include the solutions that have worked for me in my attempts to overcome them. Right, let's get to the point :). The struggle:  Loss of motivation to write. As you may have noticed, I haven't been updating my blog as much as I did in my first two weeks of maintaining it, and that is due to the excitement and motivation to do so slowly dying down. Personally, this is one of my least favourite 'side-effects' of absol...

After the pandemic

Good morning; good afternoon; good evening. As you may have guessed by the title, my aim for this entry is to share with you what I hope to do after the coronavirus subsides enough for things to get back to normal. More or less. Just so I don’t forget, if you have a minute or two to spare, leave a comment about some things you would consider doing yourself. It’d be interesting to see what motivates different people to keep hanging on during this disaster. 1. First of all, I will go visit the local dog shelter. I’ve been there a handful of times, with different friends of mine, so I think that my first visit after the virus should be made alone. You know, for the sake of contrast :) 2. I will definitely meet up with people, especially people I didn’t have the chance to catch up with before the situation started escalating. Of course, I can engage in conversations over text or call, video call, even, however, as you are aware, nothing beats meeting in person. 3. I’ll go to...
Right off the bat, I’d like to dedicate this blog to anyone and everyone who’s ever wished to have a blog, but instead possessed absolutely no idea of where to start. What a wonderful gift, am I right? I hope that my personal little step towards something bigger has the power of lighting up a speck of inspiration in you; even if it may only be the tiniest one. Don’t worry, I will make sure to tune it down on the cheesy stuff). ‘My Bluggles’ (the title of this blog) is a chopped down version for ‘My Blogging Struggles’ (very creative indeed), which, I think, speaks very well for itself. And if it doesn’t, then the rest of the words on this blog should. Oh, right. How could I forget? A very warm welcome to my lovely blog)). Here, you will have all kinds of insights into my life, be greeted with something different at each entry (I mean, fingers crossed, right?), and most importantly (in my opinion, at least), be exposed to all the possible forms of sarcasm, hot out of the oven. Care...
