Titled Untitled (#2)

Hi, everyone)). How are you? :) My apologies for not writing for a few days. Good news is, a few things have accumulated over this little break, which I can tell you all about now)).

First of all, I'm like to address the missing 'Read of the week'. Last week I focused on reading novels, and didn't think I had a good enough short story to share with you. This week, however, look out for a nice short story).

Next up is the weather. Remember how I got quite excited about the rainy season having finally started? Well, the weather decided to pull our leg, and instead of there being rain, it now seems like it was even hotter than in was before. I am quite disappointed about that, although I know that sooner or later the rainy season will eventually come around.

A pretty photo I took of the sunset the other day :)

I've been trying my best to keep active and either go for a run or do sets of exercises and stretches at home, and I'm happy to report that that's been working out quite well for me. Today I went running with a good friend who lives nearby, and we had a little disaster in the middle of our run. It turns out the police have not not only closed down the beaches, but also the pathways next to them which I had the majority of my runs on. This means that I'll have to figure out where I can run from today onwards, and frankly, there aren't many options left :(.

For the past week or so, I've been reading a chapter a day of this amazing book called 'The Meditations' by Marcus Aurelius. It is such an incredible book, and I have a strong feeling that it'll be life-changing for me once I'm done, which will happen very soon, since I only have one chapter to go)).

Do you have any recommendations as to what book/novel I can read next? Please leave them in the comments if you do :)

  1. Those pictures you took are so pretty! And good luck on finding a new route-- that must've sucked :(

And I have a recommendation! How about Newt's Emerald by Garth Nix? It's set wayy back, about a royal girl pretending to be a guy to find the royal hairloom (Newt's Emerald). The ones that's supposed to do find it is her brother or.. cousin? I can't quite remember. This is interesting to me since back then girls didn't have much power, that's why the guys had to do the investigating.

There's a hint of romance in it that made my dumb romantic heart throb so like if you're into that :'))

    1. That sounds quite interesting. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of romance, but I'm all for widening the circle of genres I read :)

  2. Love these little update posts!

I really recommend The Book Thief if you haven't read it already- it's one of my favourites!

    1. Read that one). An amazingly powerful novel. I actually cried on the bus while reading one rather emotional part. Definitely one of my favourites too :)

The real 'Bluggles'

Hi, everyone)). I hope you're doing well. This is an entry I was looking forward to writing for a few days now, and finally got down to it.  As we all know, every task that requires any form of effort (which is, in fact, EVERY task) has its own set of difficulties that tags along with it, no matter if we like that or not. So, I wanted to address some of the struggles I, as well as probably some of you, have come across while blogging this far. BUT, I feel like anyone can just sit down and share a few of their difficulties, therefore, I decided to also include the solutions that have worked for me in my attempts to overcome them. Right, let's get to the point :). The struggle:  Loss of motivation to write. As you may have noticed, I haven't been updating my blog as much as I did in my first two weeks of maintaining it, and that is due to the excitement and motivation to do so slowly dying down. Personally, this is one of my least favourite 'side-effects' of absol...

All about the doggies

Hello, dear readers)). I hope everyone's doing okay. This long awaited (by me) entry is going to be about the dog shelter I mentioned in one of my previous posts: https://mybluggles.blogspot.com/2020/03/after-pandemic.html?m=1 First of all, I'd like to point out the fact that I'm afraid of dogs. People don't believe me when I tell them (especially since I tend to go about petting every single doggie in my sight), but I can assure you I am. Trust me on this. Regardless of that unhandy fear, I have spent the past few months paying visits to volunteer at a dog shelter in my city. I first found out about the shelter when a good friend of mine offered to take me there with her for a day of volunteering. I agreed without any hesitation, because the idea appealed to me quite a bit. Now, I was warned that it would be noisy at the shelter, but no warning could have prepared me for the amount of noise you experience every time you set foot inside. To give you a slightly bet...

Some Positive Occurrences

Hello, welcome back :)). And of course, May the 4th be with you! :) I think this post is pretty self-explanatory; I'll be listing down some of the pleasant stuff that has taken place lately)). 1.)  I've reached a pretty decent, and somewhat unprecedented new height at baking. Or to put it simpler, I decided to challenge myself and have managed to make some nice croissants from scratch. I would have never thought that I'd be able to add this onto my list of things that I occasionally ever so slightly brag about, but here we are :). 2.)  I have FINALLY , and I will emphasise this further, FINALLY  read 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell. For years it has been THE book almost everyone automatically assumed I had read (since I enjoy my classics), and I had to go through the embarrassment of admitting that I hadn't. Honestly, I think this is the accomplishment on this list that I am most proud of. For anyone who hasn't read the book, I really recommend it. ...
